Bellboy Stories

Edson C. de Oliveira, one of the bellboys at the Hilton Morumbi accumulated many stories on his professional experience in hospitality. He even lent $10 to a guest who was in a hurry and didn't have enough money for a taxi!!

These are some of his stories:

- We once received the Gremio soccer team in the hotel, and I had the opportunity to check in the team's President. He thanked me with a key chain and a pen of the team that I loved.
That same day, a guest checked in with his son, who was a big fan of the Gremio. As soon as the father told me this, I told the kid "Then I have a present for you".
I went down to my locker, picked up the pen and the key chain that the president of the team had given me before and took it to the kid, telling him who gave it to me.
That little soccer fan got happier than ever!

- A guest once checked in after a long trip. When I took her to her apartment, I asked as usually if she needed something else. She requested a Nokia cellphone charger. I knew we didn't have one so I told her, and she was very disappointed. I explained to her where she could buy one in a nearby shopping, but she said that "5 minutes for whom just traveled 24 hours is a lot".
I went down to the lobby, and remembered that Rodman, our bartender had a similar cellphone. Luckily, when I asked him, he was carrying his charger with him.
I sent the charger to the guest and she was really happy. I found her later that day and she told me that she had returned the charger to Rodman and that my initiative had "saved her life!".
