That is the way we found Eli at the Ocean Suite at the El San Juan Hotel & Casino, The Waldorf Astoria Collection. She was sick and thirsty, lying alone, trying to find a shelter to protect herself.
Some of our team members: Alan, from Security; Michael Platt, our General Manager; Jo Ann Estrada, Kitchen; Maribel Torres, Terraza; among others, committed with our community did not hesitated in taking care of her. We provided Eli with food, water, toys, a warm bed at the Security Office, lots of love, but most importantly, medical attention until we found her a home.
Fortunately, the wait was short. Jeannette Martinez, from Engineering, adopted Eli. She decided to keep the name our General Manager came up with: Eli. The name honors the name of our hotel: EL San Juan. Yes, Eli is a female dog.
“Eli is very recuperating now. You can see how happy she is because she never stops waiving her tail”, said Jeannette.
Every day more and more defendless animals are dying because they are being abandoned. We, at the San Juan Hotel & Casino, are putting our little grain of sand, in order to help with this cause that is affecting our society. This is an example of sharing love and tenderness.
Mahatma Ghandi said once: “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated”.
